Pro Tips for Flavor-Packed Drumsticks

  • Butterflying the drumsticks allows for faster, more even cooking and more surface for seasoning.

  • Add a chunk of applewood or cherrywood to your hopper for a sweet, smoky finish.

  • Always use a meat thermometer to hit that perfect internal temp for juicy chicken.

Instructions

  1. 01

Using a sharp knife, carefully slice along the bone of each drumstick, being cautious not to cut all the way through. Flatten them out to maximize surface area for seasoning and smoke penetration.

  2. 02

In a bowl or zip-top bag, combine the drumsticks with Bachan’s Roasted Garlic Sauce and the minced garlic. Marinate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

  3. 03

Once marinated, remove the drumsticks from the fridge and pat them dry. Coat each piece evenly with your favorite all-purpose chicken seasoning.

  4. 04

Set your Gravity Series® 1150 to 275°F and let it preheat.

  5. 05

Place the drumsticks on the smoker and let them cook for about 30 minutes.

  6. 06

Brush the drumsticks with Bachan’s Totally Garlic Sauce, then increase the temperature to 325°F. Continue cooking until the internal temperature reaches 170–175°F and the outside begins to caramelize.

  7. 07

Sprinkle chopped green onions over the top and add a final drizzle of Totally Garlic Sauce. Serve hot!

MASTER IT.
